Lake Nazimiento Campground
Concentration Campground

Lake Nacimiento Campground has always been known for its' 'wild side', not for "Family Camping". When it was run by Water World Resorts, aka the Heath family, it was at best a bottom of the line campground.

My family camped there over Memorial Day for 5 days, thinking it would have changed......Now that Monterey County has taken over, the legacy continues.

Upon entering, you'll get the feeling you're not wanted.........That feeling is correct. They love to take your money, and the rangers are more than willing to throw their weight around.

For some reason, they will not allow RV deliveries to the 'compound'. They cite insurance and abandonment, but I think it is more along the line of "We have trailers for rent, and we are going to make life hell for anyone making money on 'our' campground."

This is Monterey County, standing on San Luis Obispo County land.......Oh yeah right, they built the dam....

Now, oddly enough, right over the hill, sits San Antonio Lake. Also run by Monterey County Parks, here you will find friendly gate attendants, a clean campground with more campsites at both North and South shores.

So, I am not happy to set this restriction, but I've been told in no uncertain terms my units are not welcome at Lake Nacimiento Campground.....And I guess they don't want your camping dollars either....
